its a great and surprising experience
Enough said…. This place could be fun… It could be many things. It just isnt. Its sad
Okay, there is nothing “arty” about the place, nor is it a cafe in any sense of the word. What it is, is a topless dive where you can get anything (read ‘anybody’) you want for the right price. Only problem is, from the moment you walk in the door you lose any desire you might have had for anything or anybody. Neither soap nor towels in the toilets which haven’t been cleaned since the turn of the century. You leave wanting to take a shower and burn your clothes. Oh! If you pick a girl (or she picks you), make sure you have a girl. There have been a number of guys passing for girls dancing in the place. They want your money, period. Same goes for the divey places immediately across the street and Dixie Diva’s next door.UPDATE: As of August 2010 the place is mercifully closed however Dixie Diva’s is still open. You can substitute “Dixie Diva’s” for “Artist Cafe” in the above review.
New owner’s are trying to clean the place up and improve the reputation. I’m looking forward to seeing what has happened over the past 7 months since my last visit.
