A tragic incident unfolded in northwest Miami-Dade during the early hours of Friday, resulting in the death of a woman following a confrontation at a local strip club.
According to Miami-Dade Police officials, the altercation occurred at Club Climaxxx located at 12001 Northwest 27th Avenue around 3:20 a.m. It began as a heated dispute among several individuals inside the establishment and escalated into a confrontation in the parking lot.
Detective Andre Martin explained that an armed security guard employed by the club intervened in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, as part of his duty. During the altercation, a woman involved in the dispute retreated to a car’s back seat, brandishing a firearm and firing at the guard.
In response, the guard returned fire, striking the woman. The vehicle then fled the scene and was discovered parked at 27th Avenue and Northwest 103rd Street, where the woman, later identified as 32-year-old Shaynea Chantile Johnson, was found deceased.
Footage from the scene depicted Miami-Dade Police officers surrounding the vehicle, which bore multiple bullet holes. Fortunately, the security guard escaped unharmed.
An eyewitness, who was at the club to pick up her daughter, expressed dismay over the incident and the pervasive issue of gun violence. Meanwhile, police continue their investigation, interviewing all involved parties and exploring the possibility of additional suspects.
“As this investigation unfolds, we are considering all angles and potential accomplices,” stated Detective Martin, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the inquiry.
