you can still be a bar maid or dancer when you are older...nothing wrong with that. if you still got the looks/ shape/ desire ... etc but if you have invested in stocks/ education/ business whatever and have alternate stream of income it will be by choice to do or not

Here is a lesson for all you girls. Most dancers earn big dollars, especially since pay is often based on boob size. Save your money, invest in in your education, property, etc. or you will end up as a bar maid in a strip club, unless of course, you really want to be a bar maid.

I was there a couple weeks ago and saw some really cute young VIP's, then there are some older ladies that are still by all means good looking for their age but maybe should choose a different career path. SB, I have never seen someone so desperate to make money, bouncing around like an idiot. I mean she's cute for someone who is in her mid 30's but also not quite dancer material anymore. Meh, mixed reviews. Also, there was a girl on stage that had the shoulder breadth of a man and no butt, looking high as kite. Again, meh.
Two names come to mind from years ago, Micha and Stripteaze. Both were very energetic, fast dancers who put on a good show. Don't go there much anymore though because of the low quality of dancing, although I do see a lot of new names, so maybe things have improved.
A number of comments have been critiquing the dancers of late. It got me to wondering, what standard are they being held to? So, who's your all time favorite dancer of all that you've seen there, when she was at her peak? I'll start the ball rolling by voting for my stage favorite, Midori. IMHO, she had a cheerful energy and uninhibited enthusiasm. What are others' all time favorites, stage or VIP?

Back then a VIP was 40 bucks and if the girl liked you, you may be invited to go back to the private room for 50 bucks, and there was a reason there was a lock on the door. I have lamented many times the fact that they were closed forever before Shae Stephanie, Mercedes and Hailey Haze arrived on the scene. My mouth still waters at the prospect of being behind a locked door with them.
Also remember, when the ViP area didn't have curtains? I hated that.
Those rooms were the best. I remember fun times with Nine in those rooms. Those were the days! While some of the girls may shove a tit in a mouth here and there, there's not much else going on. They'd fire any dancer doing anything serious, in a second, to protect the liquor licence.
I probably wouldn't say too much about who does what or when...as who knows who may be reading this in future...you used to be able to reserve lap dances in the private rooms upstairs too - remember that - and now that has been forced to close...

To the east coaster girl... welcome....I have had dozens if not hundreds of lap dances at the No 5, and generally just look for someone relatively attractive and nice, or a hottie generally...to just make my day as a workoholic business owner...part of it is looks and part of it is attitude...I don't think 27 is too old, and I also like and respect intelligence...Have a plan to get out of this industry though entirely and a better future...it's a hard job and it can probably eat you up if not careful.

I don't remember the cecil being run very well. It was interesting in the late 90s but everything became ultra expensive b/c of olmpics. People had less money to spend. I recall reading press the authorities about shutting strip clubs down because it wasn't the image the city wanted portrayed

The VIP's earnings are directly proportional to the effort, personality, and physical appearance of the dancer. The best looking girls, with the best attitudes could walk away with more than 1 kilobuck in their purse. Just ask Shae Stepanie, Mercedes, Hailey Haze, Veronica etc. Best of luck to you.
I have danced a bit at the 5. The rumour is that during the day, when there is no one watching the VIP rooms upstairs the extras girls are doing their thing. Also, I have personally witnessed, betweent he curtains while dancing in the side by side booths, girls allowing guys to suck on their nipples.
As for earnings, if you have danced for a while already you should know better than to ask. Few people will give you an honest answer and those who do are unlikely to tell the truth...plus, it varies so much from girl to girl that what one girl makes is irrelevant to another girl's earnings.
So just wondering, I'm an experienced dancer, have danced locally at the Paramount, Brandi's etc but I've always heard bad things about this place..just wondering how common are extras, and how much a typical night's earnings would be at this club?

To the girl who is asking if 27 is too old, not really, if you look reasonably young and are in fact fit and healthy..most girls start at 18 and work until their mid-thirties.
If you have some dance experience, the 5 is not a bad place. If you have none, I would recommend the paramount first, they will teach you how to dance and it's a less stress (no booze) environment, then you can move to the 5 to make more money when you feel comfortable.
I think we all know you don't have to be young, fit, healthy, or good looking or any combination of the four to work at the five unfortunately. We can all hope you can bring in something new. You sound intelligent. As a previous poster said, get in have a decent amount of fun and get out, do not under any circumstances let the seedier folk drag you down, it can be too easy. You are not too old if you are fit, good looking, and have a good attitude. Remember that you are there to make money, not to make friends with the other girls and party your money away. You will be exposed to a lot of pressures from the other girls, to conform to their expectations, you need a tattoo, you should try some of this, etc., they are not paying your wages, so just say no. There are good girls there, who have legitimate goals like you, and there is a lot of trash there, don’t become one of them.
I came on this message board to ask for your honest opinion. I am a 27 year old, educated, female, moving from back east to the Vancouver area. I know The 5 is one of the bastions of the downtown scene as well as a good predictor of a exotic club in the lower mainland. I need to make quick cash (a year or so of work). I was wondering if 27 is too old to start working in this industry. I am fit, healthy, no drugs. I just want an honest opinion from die hards and gentlemen that know/ see/ hear all that is the strip club. (Ps. No judgement calls I need quick cash)

Haha, yes your description of the shift times is fairly accurate. The truth is there is no real cut-and-dry end time for a day shift or start time for a night shift because each girl on a given shift has a different time that she finishes...but your approximations are right.
The only thing I might argue with is the comatose thing, lol. A lot of girls just don't work that hard during the day because so few people tip...and also you have to keep in mind that dancers are typically night creatures so they often have less energy at noon than, say, at 10 or 11pm!
Days = DAY time, during DAYlight, up until dinner time roughly
Nghts= not DAY, mmmm, dark, later, after dinner
All day = the long haul, DAY and NIGHT, if they are boring walkers at lunch, they'll be comatose by 11 p.m. without stimulants OR naps and good nutrition.
Of course management could actually COMMUNICATE and let us in on the secret so we don't have to guess, but we're talking about the 5 here, a long-term case study for marketing ineptness.
