So what is the real deal? Is this place closing or not? What i do know is that this place needs some serious upgrades. Is the mirror behind the main stage still cracked? The bathrooms need to be renovated and made bigger, 2 people is a crowd in the bathroom. Shold put another stage in the downstairs area to make it more interesting.
Trust me mayor has more problems budget..corrupt police dept..unions..taxes..than to wory about a 2bit place like sportsman..your way off if you think mayors interested in closing sportys
This club went from great to it's deathbed when people and a nice bartender got shot. The mayor wants this place gone and so do the owners . This place is on it's last legs . It's like when a horse is suffering it's better to put it out of it's misery .

hate to break the news folks, but sportsmans days are numbered. mayor taveras will do everything he possibly can to see the sale includes getting rid of the club. and the new owners would likely demolish the building or at least do major renovations. the buyer is working with the city to buy the property through the economic development partnership revolving loan fund. essentially run by taveras as chairman. too bad was a great little club in it's day.
Love the comments ftom others regarding us closing.we arent closing.the club isnt for sale.the property is and once boyght the club will sign a new lease.the owner needs this club.i have no idea where all these stories come from.
Not a closed deal by any means. Don't have any inside info but there are still hurdles they must clear such as the Providence "stimulus money" being passed along with the lawsuit the Mayor is (was) involved with. That timeframe is coming up quickly though and may be Oct. as suggested in the previous post.
October it is all over new owners club is closing not profitable going to removate the hotel close the club suggest the dancers bail out now cheaters is a good option get out now before thr ship sinks and there are mo life preservers

Actually "Visitor" is probably not lying as i had a similar experience with Sammy. We did a dance for $11 and i busted it all over her, she did not mind at all. Afterwards she tipped me, go figure.

the post about sammy is true. she quoted me $25 for a downstairs adventure. after drinks and tickets, once downstairs i told her i only had $6. sammy said ok anyway. I accidentally soiled her skirt no problem. returned the next day and she had the same outfit on with a stain. she did me again. this time for $4.
Your right about not all girls do extras but as the guy said below if your downstairs for more than 3 songs chances are its an r rated to x rated dance.....no ones gonna pay 100 bucks for a g rated dance...you can get that upstairs..
Now I must say there are plenty that do extras but there are a few that wont.youhave to take every female.downstairs to know and from experience I knp that there are females who dont do extras.

A lot of stuff is pending so time will tell if and when it happens. Nothing will happen until sometime in October at the earliest. I'm sure all license's will be included in the deal and as someone previously mentioned any major renovation will have to be up to current code. 150k in, my opinion, can only go to some upgrades and not a renovation.
Small amt for renovations.not to mention with any renovations you have to upgrade on any new building codes that you mightve been grandfathered in...150 for demo maybe then resell lot?
read in the providence journal today sportmens has been sold to a buyer from nyc, article is in the front section i believe page a-8, says they are putting $150, 000 into renovations, didnt say it will stay as a bikini bar

I hear alot of talk about electric blue. Is it worth the trip over there? I live about 90 minutes from electric blue so i dont want to go there and find out it sucks.
When in conn. I find Electric Blue[?] In Tolland and either Bishops or Pleasants inBridgewater to be quite the full xxx service spots...as for rach decent GFE sessions..gl rach!
